The Tempest and the Temptress

It’s not just another tree,
It’s not just another bone,
It’s not just another foreign sliding stone,
It’s all a bit of a game reserve,
And I reserve the right to take you away,
My memories are playing in reverse,
And I’m reversing down the way…

To you, the tempest, to you, the temptress,
And I did, and I did,
And I've been playing with fire ever since,
Like when I was a kid, like when I was a kid.

Looks so good from the outside,
Makes me want to throw myself in,
Grab it by both hands and let go of this rim,
It’s all along the wild coast,
And we are too wild to be saved,
Scratching at each others' throats,
While I’m coasteering through these caves…

To you, the tempest, to you, the temptress,
And I can, and I can,
And I've been playing human ever since,
Like when I was a man, like when I was a man.

Get married beneath the oak,
And I will befriend the sea,
You know that you can uproot even the toughest weed,
It’s all a bit of an hourglass,
That has been fixed to the floor,
So I’m making it my life’s work,
To open every door...

To you, the tempest, to you, the temptress,
And I lie, and I lie,
And I've loved that wolf ever since,
Like when I was alive, like when I was alive.
